How to create your own Queen- Bohemian Rhapsody t-shirt with bleach.

It all started after watching the movie "Bohemian Rhapsody" this weekend. I loved it and realized just how much I always loved Queen. I have been pulling a Wayne and Garth and jamming to Bohemian Rhapsody and We are the Champions all week. I then decided that I needed to make a cool Queen shirt.

I found the iconic photo on the internet, you know the one...

I opened up Photoshop and edited the image until I had a good black and white version.

Then I cut out the design using Dollar Tree contact paper.
I transferred the vinyl to the t-shirt and was so excited I only half-assed burnished the vinyl down.
I mixed up half water/ half bleach in a spray bottle (that I bought at the Dollar Tree).

Make sure you mask off the rest of your t-shirt. Then start straying. I had to mop up the mixture from the vinyl where it pooled. Let it sit awhile and then go back and stray again until you like the color.

Blot up all the liquid before you remove the vinyl.

I actually had some seepage, which is why I mention that I only half-ass burnished (If I even burnished at all- I don't even remenber). I pulled out my trusty Plaid Fabric Markers and filled in some details with a black marker. You can see it some in the photo above.

BUT I still love it. It's very Rock-n-Roll!

As I am typing this blog I am jamming to Queen on Amazon Music.
Side note... every time I hear Princes of the Universe my heart flutters... thinking of Adrian Paul as the Highlander. :)

Try it and let me know how yours worked out!
